OTL: One More Sleep!
We’ve officially reached the eve of the NFL Draft, one of the most exciting weekends in the sport, and as usual, ChatGPT has all the answers heading into Round 1 for Baltimore:
Drafting Kool-Aid McKinstry from the New Orleans saints roster is some fivehead type shit
Love it! https://t.co/jlAyNEAUdv

What a coup that would be! All jokes aside, Thursday night should bring an incredibly exciting First Round. By all accounts, teams are looking to trade early in the draft, and certain players are being rumored to be involved in deals later on:
Been saying it all cycle: in a draft where a lot of teams want to trade down, the price to trade up will be cheaper and accordingly I think we will see a decent number of draft day trades. Not expecting a record or anything, but still some! https://t.co/rFoZqsdJkP

Mark Andrews responded to trade speculation heading into the draft, per ESPN:
“At the end of the day, I think [Eric DeCosta] said it perfectly: He’s in the business of keeping great players and it’s a business at the end of the day. You can’t be surprised by anything, but I’m a… pic.twitter.com/zfW2w2CGpf

I still see the Ravens holding on to Mark Andrews at this point, but never say never. If he is traded, how about this idea?
If you are the #Ravens, Would you trade 2 first round picks, 2 second round picks and Mark Andrews to move up to #3 to draft Abdul Carter? @RussellStReport

If we’re being real, there’s no way the compensation would be enough in my eyes. Still, would you really be upset with Baltimore finding a way to snag a generational EDGE prospect? It’d be a shock, but would sure be fun.
Meanwhile, assuming the Ravens stick and pick, I personally can’t recall a time I was less sure about which direction Baltimore will go. Cole Jackson (in a way) disagrees:
I keep seeing “The drafts value is close between picks 10-30″ and I really feel that’s true.
I feel like the #Ravens just need to sit back and pick whoever falls out of Eizeraku, Starks, Nolen, Harmon or Zabel/Banks tbh
Feels kinda easy this year. One of them will fall.

I do agree that the amount of depth and lack of blue-chip talents in this draft will make it easier for Baltimore to go best player available, but at the same time, who will the BPA be? If there’s little difference between Pick 10 and Pick 30, there’s a real possibility that none of the names Jackson mentioned are available come Pick 27.
For Cole, the ideal pick seems to be Boston College’s EDGE Donovan Ezeiruaku, a productive pass rusher that’s slightly undersized but has real athleticism.
If I had to put together an *Ideal draft* that’s trying to be reasonable relative to mock draft ADP I’d go:
27 – Donovan Eizeraku
59 – Omar Norman-Lott
91 – Wyatt Milum
129 – Nohl Williams
137 – Chase Lundt
176 – Robert Longerbeam
183 – Teddy Buchanan#RavensFlock— Cole Jackson (@ColeJacksonFB) April 22, 2025
I wouldn’t mind the pick but would be far more excited by the rest of Baltimore’s haul in this scenario. Either way, as Dev Panchwagh notes, it does feel like the Ravens can snag an immediate difference maker on the defensive side of the ball.
To that point, in ESPN’s NFL Nation Mock Draft on Tuesday, Jamison Hensley selected Georgia S Malaki Starks, a popular selection throughout the process.

It all will depend on who else is available, but I would be ecstatic with Starks coming to Charm City. Even with Ar’Darius Washington’s return this week, the Ravens will want flexibility with their Safeties and could get a true “centerfielder” in the Georgia Bulldog. Starks and Hamilton would be an elite combo on the back-end, with Washington filling in when Hamilton plays in the slot or the box. I’m all for it.
If you want a deeper dive into how the 2025 NFL Draft might shape up for the Ravens, check out RSR’s Mock Draft Duel with Nikhil Mehta and Kevin McNelis, which dropped on Tuesday morning:

Personally, my favorite picks were Nikhil’s 2nd and 3rd Rounders, and Kevin’s 3rd and 5th Rounders. It’s a fun watch!
With that, I’ll leave it up to you all. Let us know in the comments, who do you want to see in purple and black on Friday morning?
Two days to go.
What are you hoping the #Ravens do at pick #27?#RavensFlock
