“It’s definitely different. I had the best hitter in baseball hitting behind me. I was getting more attacked and more pitches in the strike zone, less intentional walks and things like that. I was pitched differently last year.”

No kidding, Juan. You had Aaron Freakin’ Judge in the on-deck circle. Of course, pitchers didn’t want to walk you—they were terrified of what came next. But now? You’re in Queens, and guess what—nobody’s afraid anymore. Certainly not of the Mets lineup, and apparently not of Juan Soto without a security blanket.

Let’s not forget: Soto chose this. He chased the cash. Fifteen years. Seven-hundred sixty-five million dollars. A generational bag.
