There are No Church’s in Heaven – WE Are the Church. This Writing Deserves a Look.
Posted May 14, 2025 | End Times Watch
I have been a member of a church my entire life. I have found tremendous benefit from attending this church, as it has been instrumental in my spiritual development, as well as learning the teachings of Jesus Christ and His atonement. I have found great opportunity for service, as well as a sense of community there. I have no regrets being involved with my church for such a long period of time.
In my recent studies of the “End-Times” in the (KJV) Bible, I have come to have a deeper understanding of Jesus Christ, and what is exactly going to happen during the next 7 years of my life. In this study, I have also found teachings that are different from what I had been taught. I would like to share one of those teachings with you today.
When many people think of “church,” they picture a building with pews, pulpits, stained glass, and a steeple. But the Bible teaches something far deeper and more eternal. According to Scripture, there will be no church building in heaven, because the true Church is not made of brick and mortar. It is made of people—born-again believers in Jesus Christ.
The Church is Not a Building
The New Testament never defines the Church as a building. Instead, it consistently teaches that the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all those who have put their faith in Him.
“Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.”
—1 Corinthians 12:27 (KJV)
When Jesus said, “upon this rock I will build my church” (Matthew 16:18 KJV), He was not referring to a building. He was referring to a spiritual body of believers built upon the confession that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.
The Book of Revelation gives us a clear glimpse into the heavenly realm. Notice what it says about the New Jerusalem:
“And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.”
—Revelation 21:22 (KJV)
Think about that: No church building. Why? Because God and the Lamb are the center of all worship. There is no need for a physical space to “go to church,” because the redeemed are the Church, and we will be with Him face to face.
You Are the Temple
Paul writes plainly:
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?”
—1 Corinthians 3:16 (KJV)
The presence of God no longer dwells in tents or tabernacles, but in the hearts of those who believe. If you are in Christ, you are already part of the heavenly Church.
This truth destroys the illusion that salvation, worship, or holiness are confined to the four walls of a church building. It reminds us that what matters most is not religious attendance, but spiritual rebirth.
Why The Temple is No Longer Needed – Jesus Replaces the Physical Temple
John 2:19-21
“Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spake of the temple of his body.”
Jesus clearly taught that His body was now the true temple. He would rise again and become the center of worship, replacing the old physical temple structure in Jerusalem.
Believers Are Now the Temple of God
1 Corinthians 3:16-17
“Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.”
1 Corinthians 6:19
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?”
The physical temple of the Old Testament is replaced by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in every true believer. Christians themselves become the spiritual temple where God lives.
Jesus Is the Final Sacrifice
Hebrews 10:11-14
“And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God… For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
The entire sacrificial system, central to the purpose of the physical temple, was fulfilled by Jesus’ one-time offering. Therefore, no temple is needed to offer sacrifices for sin, as was the purpose of the temple.
Christ’s Body Is Global—and Eternal
The people (defined as Church) that are going to heaven is not divided by denomination, race, or building. It is one body, held together by faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.
“There is one body, and one Spirit… One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all…”
—Ephesians 4:4–6 (KJV)
You don’t need a membership in a religious organization to enter heaven—you need a relationship with Jesus Christ. You must be “Born Again,” meaning that you have turned your life towards Jesus Christ, and accepted His leadership and teachings, trying to live a “Christlike” life. In doing this, you will see a “New You”…A Changed Person – essentially Born Again.
Don’t Just “Go” to Church—Be the Church
Heaven doesn’t have a church building, because Heaven is filled with the Church—the people of God. Let this encourage you to live out your faith every day. Worship Him not just in buildings, but in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).
And remember this:
“And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.”
—Colossians 2:10 (KJV)
You don’t need a building to be complete—you need Jesus.
So, what does this mean to us regarding the churches that we currently attend? If you are drawing closer to God by attending your church, by all means, you should continue attending. Again, the sense of community, the availability to serve others, and the continual learning of Jesus Christ are very beneficial through the church. But consider this…
If your church teaches that you need “them” to make it into heaven, you are being misled. Our churches today have created a dependence upon them for salvation, which is not true teachings. Their reasons for them doing this are different I’m sure, but they all have one thing in common…MONEY! By the way, let’s learn the true teaching from Jesus Christ regarding our tithing.
Tithing should be given to the Poor – Not to a Church
The Third-Year Tithe Was Given to the Poor
Deuteronomy 14:28-29
“At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied;
that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.”
This tithe was not given to a temple or religious institution—it was stored locally and distributed directly to those in need. God promised to bless those who obeyed this generous practice.
God Commands Care for the Poor in Tithing
Deuteronomy 26:12-13
“When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year… thou shalt give it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow… Then thou shalt say before the Lord thy God, I have brought away the hallowed things out of mine house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow…”
This passage reinforces that God honored those who gave their tithe to the poor and vulnerable, rather than selfishly saving it or giving it solely to religious leaders.
Jesus Taught Giving to the Poor as Central to Righteousness
Luke 11:41
“But rather give alms of such things as ye have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.”
Luke 12:33
“Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not…”
Jesus never commanded tithing to a synagogue or church, but He did emphasize almsgiving—direct help to the needy—as part of eternal treasure.
Paul Teaches Giving to the Needy, Not a Church Organization
2 Corinthians 9:6-7, 9
“But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly… Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give… (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.)”
This passage supports voluntary, heartfelt giving—not a mandatory tithe to a religious institution—and Paul quotes Psalm 112:9, where the righteous man is praised for giving to the poor.
Pure Religion Is Caring for the Needy, Not Funding an Institution
James 1:27
“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction…”
True religion is defined by helping the vulnerable, not by financing an institution. This reflects God’s heart for direct aid and compassion.
I’m certain that you can agree with me on this one. As we see preachers, and churches gain substantial wealth through tithing, yet not give it ALL to those who are poor and in need, we can see their selfish greed for the money, rather than to fulfill the purpose in which it was given… AND…for the purpose that God has taught us through the scriptures, giving directly to the poor.
We all have to realize that there are some untruths taught by our churches. This has to do with the leader’s mortal interests, and desires to build a mortal kingdom here on earth. Just remember, It is Jesus Christ whom we worship. He is the only thing in heaven… No churches, no temples, nor other men to worship… Just HIM… Jesus Christ. Your loyalty needs to be with Him first, and then our churches. In this way, we will never be deceived in these final 7-years here on earth.
