Yes and there was this place called Galveston further up the coast meant to be the biggest port off the Mississippi until the early 1900′s totally wiped out by a Hurricane. The warning of building near the coast with cities on floodplains is ignored until the expense gets too much to rebuild(they rebuilt the city) it was a real category 4 and not these fake Cat 2 ones dressed up as Cat 4 by the media from Satellite readings of upper cloud speeds. 12,000 lost their lives and the US population responded by building in exactly the same location, materials and design in a place which justifies buildings which are bunkers on stilts with aerodynamic sides to create downforce. Remember the National Hurricane center was destroyed in Miami and relocated 100 miles further inland. Its sad but not in the sense that people lose their lives and property since they have decided to take a risk since living there has long proven to be fatal. It is sad that they are being bailed out to do it rather than encouraged to stop being so stupid before they get themselves or their children killed by a lifestyle choice or in fact bankrupt the nation in a multi trillion $ insurance payout as a real Cat 4 decides to flatten coastal developments.
I think we are talking about man-made hurricanes here.
Establishing DMZ zones on all coasts? We’ll keep watch. I’ll bet that’s what’s going on. They just wiped out the islands first. Then on some of the islands, I’m willing to bet will be command centers for the Theater of War, a.k.a., USA.
Just who is this Red Cross guy, Fred Mariscal, being asked questions??? Is he even an American??? He looks weird, look at his mouth when he talks, his enunciation of words, phrasing of words. Maybe a Russian or eastern European??? A robot??? Certainly not a Texan.
This is water damaged furniture – hardly what you call devastation.
FEMA camps in Texas have Auschwitz style gas chambers waiting for Houston
Brother truck driver,
You have been taking too many bennies. Get some sleep.
Report from Houston
I like the way these articles make it seem like Houston is in total ruins.
Really? Devastated? Not hardly.
In reality, yes there are some spots that are in bad shape for sure,
but overall, the city is doing pretty well in it’s recovery mode.
The freeways are all full of traffic from people going to work
just like normal. The stores are mostly all back open again with
stock supplies getting better daily. No one is starving to death,
and the devastation just isn’t the word for the conditions here.
In driving around yesterday and today, I thought to myself,
in six months time, none of us will even be able to tell there
were horrific floods. Right now it’s hard to see visually, other
than furniture and carpet on the curbs as in the picture above.
There is still a lot of that going on.
After hurricane Ike, things were cleaned up really fast here in
town, and within six months there was no visual clues that
there had even been a direct hit by a hurricane. The cleanup
isn’t as efficient this go around, but we have different politicians
now, than we did back in 2008. We still have not had any
removal of storm debris in our neighborhood, and many parts
of our town have not had this debris removed as of yet. The
current administration doesn’t know how to work the assets
to clean things up as well as other administrations did.
Bottom line is that we are not totally devastated, we are just
going to take a while to get the debris taken out and rebuild
things correctly. We will be just fine though. We have been
through this many times with large floods from other storms.
We will get it all back in order just as always. It just takes
some time and effort, but we get it done.
Report update.. Today the great city of Dallas has agreed to
help with debris removal. They will be sending a fleet of garbage
trucks and crane trucks to help remove the debris, joining other
cities that are already on site, like San Antonio, and Austin.
This should help quite a bit in speeding up the process.
The Red Cross was caught throwing out new blankets and other supplies. Private citizens caught this on their cell phones and retrieved items. Red Crosses reply was “Dont worry, people will contribute more money”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOWWW!
