With Membou in the Fold, who are Jets Best day 2 Options?

The Jets stayed true to their word in drafting Armand Membou with the seventh overall pick as they look to give Justin Fields a chance to “just play quarterback” this season. The Jets project Membou as a starting RT who would give them one of the best young offensive lines in the NFL.
With Membou in the fold, who are some of the top options on day 2 where the Jets currently hold picks 42 and 73? Let’s take a look.
WR Luther Burden: Talented enough to get picked in round 1, pre-draft rumors swirled that claimed there were some character concerns for Burden that were refuted by his coaches. Burden did see a significant drop in production from 2023 to 2024 as he went from 1,212 to 676 receiving yards. However, this could be largely attributed to Mizzou QB Brady Cook dealing with nagging injuries. Burden is an explosive receiver with excellent hands who can make guys miss after the catch. He has also been used as a gadget player as he found the end zone four times on running plays.
Looks like 2025 will be another class with tons of WR talent.@MizzouFootball WR Luther Burden should be one of the top pass catchers available. pic.twitter.com/Li0uAygAaX

WR Elic Ayomanor: If you liked Tetairoa McMillan in round 1 but didn’t get him, Ayomanor is the next closest thing on day two but also plays with a bit more of a mean streak when asked to block. We think that can be something that catches the eye of Aaron Glenn and makes Ayomanor a high probability target.
The @nyjets can go in a lot of different directions on day two. One serious consideration should be Stanford WR Elic Ayomanor. Incredible hands, body control and loves getting after it as a blocker. pic.twitter.com/9q4E8IA18V

Edge Donovan Ezeiruaku: Edge is another spot that should be a priority on day two and Ezeiruaku is one of the top players still on the board.
TE Mason Taylor: The LSU pass catcher and son of Dolphins great Jason, Mason Taylor is a player who has a good chance to be more productive in the NFL than he was at LSU. A solid blocker and good route runner who would bolster what is a very weak Jets tight end room.
S Nick Emmanwori: The casual fan may not be excited over the possibility of taking a safety this early, but Emmanwori is legitimately 1 of 1. Just look at the success Aaron Glenn had in Detroit with Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch and imagine giving him this “built in a lab” chess piece whose athletic profile might be the best you’ll ever see at the position.
WR Tre Harris: Continuing to build around Justin Fields or whoever the Jets QB of the future is should be a priority and by targeting Harris you do just that. A receiver with very good hands who is quick in and out of his breaks, Harris should be a consideration for the Jets at 42.
S Xavier Watts: Not the same athlete Emmanwori is, Watts is still a very good safety who can go get the football on defense.
WR Jaylin Noel or Jayden Higgins: Two very different receivers out of the same huddle at Iowa State. Both could garner consideration, but Higgins being the bigger bodied guy would be a better compliment to Garrett Wilson on the outside.
Look at what @CycloneFB WR Jaylin Noel does to the corner on this out route. Talk about creating separation.
Noel also shows enough explosion to get behind a defense and make big plays down the field.

DT TJ Sanders: In an unbelievably deep class, Sanders could be a consideration at 42 but you could always hold off and get somebody else later on.
Edge Landon Jackson: We haven’t heard enough about the Jets need at edge this offseason. All they have at this point is Will McDonald and an gimpy Jermaine Johnson returning off of a ruptured achilles.
DT Darius Alexander: An explosive game wrecker up the middle, Alexander made himself a lot of money with a fantastic showing in Mobile.
I’m not sure any defensive player in Mobile helped themselves more than Toledo DT Darius Alexander.
Felt like he was the number one name we were hearing as the week went on and through game day. pic.twitter.com/KdXThVlRs3

TE Elijah Arroyo: Mocked by some to the Jets at 72nd overall, Arroyo moves incredibly well for a taller pass catcher but will the fact that he had just one year of production in college worry the club?
Edge Ashton Gillotte: Gillotte is a player we included on our players to watch in Indy but he waited to blow things up at his pro day. A consistent playmaker for Louisville, we think round 3 would be a good spot to consider him.
