MLB: Chicago Cubs at Pittsburgh Pirates

There was a scary moment during Wednesday night’s matchup between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs at PNC Park.

The Cubs and Pirates were playing the second contest of their three-game series. Chicago won Tuesday night’s matchup 9-0. On Wednesday, the Pirates got revenge on the Cubs by winning 4-3.

The game had to be stopped during the seventh inning when a fan was seen falling over the center field wall and landing on the warning track. The fan appears to have fallen from the 21-foot Clemente Wall.

Per Ian Smith of KDKA, the fan was seriously injured from the fall. Video shows medical staff attending to the fan.

Fans on social media sent prayers to the injured party.

“That was very strange. It looked like he jumped? Prayers up, hope he’s okay,” wrote a fan.

“I’m wondering if he was drunk, jumped up in excitement at the play, and lost his balance as he was jumping… very sad, hope he’s ok,” posted another.

“My Prayers are for his family and the person injured,” commented a fan.

“Video of a fan jumping onto the field and landing awkwardly at the Cubs v. Pirates game. Hoping for the best,” posted another.

“Prayers up for this fan at the Cubs-Pirates game brutal fall,” posted a viewer.

“So a fan just fell from the stands at PNC Park. Didn’t look good,” wrote another.
