Best Player Props for Ravens-Eagles

Derrick Henry hurdle vs Chargers

We’ve gotten to the point of the season where every game for the Ravens feels like a must-win. The Ravens sit in a comfortable position in the AFC Playoff picture with a three-game cushion in the wild card race, but they have their sights set on another division title. This Sunday provides them with another stiff test, as the 9-2 Eagles come into Baltimore playing their best football of the season. A win here would put Baltimore in a great position heading into the much-needed bye week with a trip up to MetLife Stadium to face the struggling Giants on the other side.

We got back on track last week in the player props department, going 3-2 to boost our overall season record to 36-19. The strategy this week will be similar to that of last week, leaning on All-Pro Derrick Henry to lead the charge as we anticipate another heavy workload for the King in a huge game against an extremely difficult opponent.

Derrick Henry Over 79.5 Rushing Yards (-115 ESPN Bet)

This is the lowest rushing yards line for Henry since Week 3 and I’m struggling to understand why. He is coming off a game against a solid Chargers defense where he rushed for 140 yards on 24 carries. The Ravens offense got back on track after an off week against Pittsburgh because they turned back to leaning on Henry and it proved to be the right decision. In five home games this season, Henry averages 117.8 rushing yards, giving the Ravens no reason to turn away from the run-first approach. The Eagles rushing defense can be vulnerable as well. Opponents average 4.3 yards per carry on them and they are coming off a game where they surrendered 72 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries (4.5 YPC) to Rams running back Kyren Williams. At 79.5 yards, it’s a generous line for Henry, a back who historically gets more impressive as the NFL season rolls along.

Derrick Henry Over 18.5 Rushing Attempts (-105 ESPN Bet)

I would feel good about this line on a normal week, but I’m especially in favor of it considering next week is the Ravens bye week. The only concern about giving your all world running back the ball 25+ times a game is that the progressive fatigue of that workload would eventually catch up to him. With the bye week on the horizon, the Ravens have the luxury of leaning more heavily on their go-to-guys knowing they will have more than enough time to rest before the next game. Even if the Ravens don’t start off hot and build an early lead, they know they can’t abandon the run. Last week proved that as an early 10-0 deficit didn’t faze them. They still leaned on Henry, and his 24 efficient carries were the key to the Ravens getting back in, and eventually winning that football game.

Zay Flowers Over 59.5 Receiving Yards (-115 ESPN Bet)

Zay Flowers developing into Lamar’s Bonafide WR1 is one of the more slept on storylines for the Ravens this season. His production and playmaking ability has been paramount in the overall success of this Ravens offense. Zay ranks 6th in the NFL in receiving yards this season with 789 and is once again coming off a game where he paced the Ravens in both receptions and receiving yards (still trying to get used to seeing a Ravens wide receiver in any top wide receiver ranking graphic). The Eagles have a very talented secondary, but they are certainly capable of getting beat. Last week vs the Rams, Matt Stafford and Puka Nacua had a very productive outing, connecting nine times for 117 yards. The Lamar Jackson-Z

ay Flowers connection isn’t yet on the level of Stafford and Nacua, but they have done enough for me to believe that Zay can reach 60 yards on Sunday.

Lamar Jackson Longest Pass Completion Over 35.5 Yards (-120 ESPN Bet)

I’ve had my eyes on this particular prop for a few weeks now, and it should’ve been included as it has hit in four straight games and five out of the last six. Those are the trends we are looking to take advantage of. The Ravens offense has been taking advantage of the heavy fronts and stacked boxes they frequently face. Per NFL Pro, Lamar Jackson averages the most yards per attempt (9.3) and highest passer rating (118.9) on pass attempts from in the pocket this season. The Ravens patiently wait for the defense to over-commit to the run, and strike in a very efficient way when they do. Whether it’s short screen passes to get their outside weapons in space or giving those weapons a chance on deep shots over the top, the Ravens offense is always looking for the big play. Expect them to deliver a few on Sunday.

Saquon Barkley Over 109.5 Rushing + Receiving Yards (-122 ESPN Bet)

The only running back in the NFL that has been more impressive than Henry is Eagles running back Saquon Barkley. He’s had a career renaissance since he was able to escape the Giants dumpster fire and even against a Ravens defense that surrenders a league low 3.5 yards per carry, you can expect Saquon to get his. With 26 carries in each of the last 2 games, the Eagles aren’t hiding the fact that they are looking to feed their star running back. Barkley is always a threat catching passes out of the backfield as well, racking up 47 yards on four catches last week on top of his 255 rushing yards, a single-game Philadelphia Eagles record. The Eagles come into this game playing their best football because of what Barkley is doing. I’d be thrilled if the Raves hold him under this mark on Sunday, but I don’t believe any defense is capable of doing so at this point in time.
