We Have Entered a “High-Watch” Rapture Week. A Look at the 6,000-Year Prophetic Timeline (KJV)
For generations, Christians have watched for signs of the rapture—the moment when Jesus Christ returns in the clouds to gather His bride, the Church. While the Bible tells us no one knows the exact day or hour (Matthew 24:36), it also encourages us to discern the times (Luke 12:56). As Passover 2025 approaches, many believe we are on the brink of this world-changing event.
What Is the Rapture?
The rapture refers to the sudden catching away of believers, described in 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 (KJV):
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
This moment marks the beginning of a dramatic transition—the removal of the Church before (or at the midpoint of) the great tribulation.
The 6,000-Year Timeline Since Adam
Many Bible scholars and prophecy teachers believe God has a 7,000-year plan for mankind:
- 6,000 years of human labor and history (the “days” of man)
- 1,000 years of rest during the Millennial reign of Christ (the “Sabbath” millennium)
This idea mirrors the creation week:
“For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past.” (Psalm 90:4)
“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years…” (2 Peter 3:8)
A Brief Timeline Since Adam (approximate):
- Creation of Adam: ~4000 BC
- Abraham’s Call: ~2000 BC
- Jesus Christ’s Ministry: ~27–30 AD
- Crucifixion and Resurrection: ~30–33 AD
- Now (2025 AD): ~6,000 years since Adam
According to this timeline, humanity has nearly completed 6,000 years. That places us at the doorstep of the 7th millennium—the prophesied thousand-year reign of Christ (Revelation 20:4). Many believe the rapture must happen before this seventh “day” begins.
Why Passover 2025 Matters
Passover commemorates Israel’s deliverance from Egypt, but it also foreshadows the ultimate deliverance—when God’s people are rescued from judgment. Jesus was crucified during Passover, and it may be that another great act of redemption happens on or near this season.
In the original Passover, God told His people to place the blood of a lamb on their doorposts:
“When I see the blood, I will pass over you…” (Exodus 12:13)
Today, believers are marked by the blood of the Lamb—Jesus Christ. The rapture may well be our “Passover,” when God delivers us from the judgment that is coming upon the world.
Are You Ready?
If the timeline is accurate and the signs of the times are any indicator, the rapture could happen very soon—perhaps even during Passover 2025. Regardless of the exact timing, we are closer now than ever before.
Jesus warned:
“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” (Matthew 24:44)
If you’ve never trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior, today is the day. He is the only way to eternal life:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)
And if you’re already a believer, now is the time to watch, pray, and prepare. Encourage one another with these words, and let’s be ready for the sound of the trumpet.
“Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20)
How to Prepare for the Rapture (KJV-Based Guide)
1. Dedicate yourself to Jesus Christ
This is the foundation of preparation. Without salvation through Jesus Christ, there is no rapture hope.
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)
What to do:
- Confess your sins to God in prayer (1 John 1:9)
- Believe in Jesus’ death and resurrection (Romans 10:9)
- Receive Him as Lord and Savior (John 1:12)
2. Live a Holy and Obedient Life
Salvation is by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8), but true faith produces obedience and holiness.
“Be ye holy; for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16)
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)
What to do:
- Stay away from sin and temptation
- Walk in the Spirit, not the flesh (Galatians 5:16)
- Forgive others, love your enemies, and practice mercy
3. Stay Watchful and Prayerful
Jesus warned that His coming would be sudden. We must be spiritually alert.
“Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” (Matthew 24:42)
“Pray without ceasing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
What to do:
- Develop a strong prayer life
- Ask God for discernment of the times
- Avoid spiritual laziness or complacency
4. Love the Truth
In the last days, deception will increase. Loving truth protects us from falling away.
“And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie…” (2 Thessalonians 2:11)
What to do:
- Read and study the Bible often
- Test every teaching against Scripture (Acts 17:11)
- Avoid teachers and movements that twist the Word
5. Encourage One Another
Paul said the teaching of the rapture should bring comfort, not fear.
“Wherefore comfort one another with these words.” (1 Thessalonians 4:18)
What to do:
- Share the hope of the rapture with family and friends
- Help others grow spiritually
- Fellowship with other believers who are watching
6. Be Willing to Let Go of This World
We are strangers and pilgrims here. Our true home is in heaven.
“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” (Colossians 3:2)
What to do:
- Live with eternity in mind
- Don’t get entangled in worldly pursuits and distractions
- Be willing to suffer for Christ if necessary
Final Encouragement
The rapture is not something to fear—it’s something to long for. Jesus is coming for those who love His appearing (2 Timothy 4:8). Let’s live each day as though it could be the day we meet Him in the clouds.
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” (Luke 21:28)
For those of you who believe in a pretribulation rapture, this week is indeed a “High Watch” time for the rapture to occur.
If you are a believer in a “Mid Tribulation” rapture, high watch dates would be:
- Fall feasts of 2028:
- Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah): Around Sept 21–22, 2028
- Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur): ~10 days later
- Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot): 5 days after that
Feast of Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) is the major Jewish holiday approximately 3.5 years from Passover 2025.
Let us all be prayerfully engaged in looking for our Savior, to rescue us from the Tribulation Period that is to come. Seek Him through prayer, and He will comfort you with the truth. There is peace in Christ, as you have nothing to fear.
