Half our city had a 6 hour power outage over the weekend, with night time cloudless sky’s. The power company explained it by saying, “their was an interruption in the delivery service from Duke Power company. Walking outside and looking in the general direction of the transformer station just after the lights went out, a group of us noticed a blue flash then heard a pop like the sound of a gun shot. Next morning I went to start my car and the battery was dead and my car computer no longer recognized my key fob.

Convoy headed by big trucks with yellow flashing bar lights on rear, State Police cars, DOD huge heavy duty flat bed truck, more state police in the rear all with flashing lights rolling along at between 40-45 miles per hour.
The flat bed was humongous. Seriously heavy duty and extra long. It was toting something possibly iron or steel crate that was very high at the front and sloped down 4 or 5 ft (guessing) for the rest of the length of it. Could have been more. It was all doubly wrapped in (not bubble wrap) that other stuff used to cushion delicate products sent thru the mail in those manila envelopes. It’s soft. I think it can only be cut with scissors, not necessarily torn apart.
Lanes narrowed down to 1 only.
ALL on ramps to the highway that this huge thing was to pass, were temporarily blocked by Ct. State Troopers.
Security was of a high measure. Whether concern was accidents or sabotage, explosives, missile, nukes, who knows.
Stuck behind it for about 1/2 hour as we all inched our way up to it and then around it. We cleared it at 9 pm.
You’d think they would have waited until midnight to move it so we wouldn’t see it. Scary.
