FROM WIKIPEDIA:
The Emily Morgan Hotel, formerly known as the Medical Arts Building, is a 13-story Neo-Gothic hotel near the Alamo and part of the Alamo Plaza Historic District in San Antonio, Texas. Built in 1924 and standing 205 feet (60 m) tall, it was the tallest building in San Antonio until the Milam Building surpassed it in 1928. The hotel claims to be one of the most haunted locations in San Antonio. When the Emily Morgan Hotel was a Medical Arts Building, it housed a medical complex with a morgue and crematorium.

Now you are probably wondering. Is the Emily Morgan Hotel haunted? Yes, the Emily Morgan Hotel in San Antonio, Texas, is widely known and considered one of the most haunted hotels in America, with a history as a medical facility and stories of paranormal activity.

Paranormal activity that has occurred in this hotel are as follows:

The hauntings at this hotel are blamed on the fact that it was once a Medical Arts Building. A building that saw many deaths.

Specific floors with Paranormal Activity:
The 7th, 9th and 14th floors are said to be particularly haunted, with some claiming the 14th floor has a distinct smell of antiseptic or a band-aid odor. On the 9th floor, disembodied footsteps are constantly heard at night.

Paranormal Phenomena Reported:
Elevators stopping at various floors for no clear reason, disappearing apparitions, and even unlisted phone calls from the elevators have been reported. Sometimes the elevator will stop at the 7th floor for no apparent reason. The 7th floor is an unoccupied floor that has many cold spots. The “Woman in White” is a common story involving a woman in white, often seen in the halls, who is said to stare intensely at guests before disappearing. Some believe that she is a former nurse that worked at the Medical Arts Building. The Woman in White is not to be confused with the “Vanishing Nurse”. The Vanishing Nurse is seen wearing an outfit that looks like it was made in the 1920s. The Vanishing Nurse will be tending to unseen duties. Sometimes she is seen looking at a logbook and flipping pages. When you approach her, she will vanish.

Spooky Room 810:
Shadow People are sometimes seen in Room 810. Misty forms will move about in Room 810. Misty forms are also seen moving about in the hallways. There will be drops in temperature in Room 810 that come unexpectantly. Cold spots that come and go. When you look in the mirror, you may see ghostly distorted faces behind you. Electronics like hair blowers will cut off. Lights turn on and off on their own. When you take pictures throughout the hotel, you will capture orbs or mist in your photos. One guest felt someone lying next to her in the bed.

Meeting Room Activity:
Objects like pencils or papers will move on their own accord. Strange noises are sometimes heard. Stan Watkins of Shreveport, Louisiana attended a company meeting in the meeting room and saw a stocky looking guy with a suit on, sitting at the meeting table by himself. Stan turned around for just a couple of seconds and when he looked back, the stocky looking guy had disappeared. Stan to this day, believes he saw a ghost. When photos are taken inside the meeting room, there are usually orbs seen in the photos. Special Note: Orbs can be almost anything from skin flakes, dust, lint, light refractions, dew drops, etc. To prove that the orb is paranormal, you must show “intelligent movement”. In the lobby a guest felt a sharp cold hand on his shoulder and when he turned around, there was no one there.

Smell of burning flesh:
Employees have reported a heavy, burning flesh smell in the basement, where the morgue and crematorium were located.

Ghost Tours:
The hotel even offers ghost tours that explore its history and paranormal reputation.

USA Today Ranking:
In 2015, USA Today named the Emily Morgan Hotel the third most haunted hotel in the world.

The Alamo:
Just across the street from The Emily Morgan Hotel stands the Alamo, one of the most famous and historically significant sites in Texas. The Alamo itself has a rich history and has been the subject of many legends and ghost stories, which may have spilled over to our neighboring hotel. The Emily Morgan Hotel’s proximity to the Alamo only enhances its status as America’s most haunted hotel, with ghostly encounters often drawing connections to the Alamo’s turbulent past. Special Note: When I was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas 2nd AD Hell on Wheels, I visited the Alamo. While on tour of the Alamo, I felt an unseen shoulder brush up against my shoulder. The Alamo is very haunted.

My son Jason Randall Porter and his girlfriend Vanessa Sawyer describe their experiences at this hotel. Also, on this trip were the Jason’s Ghost Hunting Rebels, my granddaughters and their cousins.

Jason’s Report:
Didn’t see much. Heard some weird sounds. Floor 14 had a very awkward smell compared to Floor 13. On Floor 13, towards the end, the elevator doors would start to shut and re-open multiple times before finally closing. Brooklyn and her cousin Elayna both had scratches on their backs, about 6 inches at the very end as well. I can’t tell you how they obtained those scratches.

Vanessa Sawyer’s Report:
I woke up out of nowhere, it seemed. I was like saying to myself: “what the hell? That was weird”. Then I felt a weird feeling, the room felt heavy and the hairs on my arms and back of my neck started to stand up. I thought to myself: “oh no”. . Then BOOM, BOOM, BOOM, someone is pounding on the door. My parents wake up, then my dad gets up to check and no one is at the door. He is just standing in the room by the door and the banging starts again, but this time it’s on the wall. We are confused and say “What the?”. Next the door handle from the front door, and the door inside the room (for the conjoined rooms) handle starts to jiggle like someone was trying to open them. My dad opens the door and there is NO ONE there. I then say to myself, screw this, I’m going back to bed. I shut my eyes and still feel that heavy feeling and hear the noises. Then all of a sudden it stops, and that feeling is gone and the banging stops. My dad makes sure all the locks are locked, and we go back to bed. 30 minutes later Salem wakes up coughing. She is coughing so much she throws up twice. My mom and I get her to calm down and cleaned up and then all of sudden I feel that feeling again. I told my mom something is about to happen and sure enough the banging started on the inside door! We just sit and wait for it to stop. Once it stops, I went and checked the door and the door is now unlocked!!! She said oh heck no, and we ran back to bed and just laid there. After about 5 minutes that feeling went away and everything was back to normal. With everything that happened that night, I woke up late in the morning. I was mentally exhausted by the strange activity in my hotel room.
