Hillsdale, Harvard, and Federal Money

Contrary opinions regarding the facts are not considered. The State has determined what the standard will be to interpret the facts. The humanists have understood this for a long time, so they made it their business to capture the robes of civil government so they could control the means of perpetuating their worldview. Humanist social theory has turned education into a god, a god that they now control. Laws are written and legislation enacted, all in the name of the misreading of the First Amendment, to shut out all rival religions. Taxes—civil government’s tithe (1 Sam. 8)—are paid to the State in support of the State church: schools. Rousas J. Rushdoony has described the process as The Messianic Character of American Education. Consider the ruling of the Ninth Circuit Court on what role parents have in the education of their own children once they are in the hands of state educators:

Parents have a right to inform their children when and as they wish on the subject of sex; they have no constitutional right, however, to prevent a public school from providing its students with whatever information it wishes to provide, sexual or other‐ wise, when and as the school determines that it is appropriate to do so. Neither Meyer nor Pierce [two earlier Supreme Court rulings] provides support for the view that parents have a right to prevent a school from providing any kind of information—sexual or otherwise—to its students…. Perhaps the Sixth Circuit said it best when it explained, “While parents may have a fundamental right to decide whether to send their child to a public school, they do not have a fundamental right generally to direct how a public school teaches their child.”

There you have it. The State, through the agency of the courts, has declared that it is the sovereign ruler over your child’s education. Did you notice how the court describes the relationship between your children and the schools they attend in the use of the phrase “its children”? They are your children. Will you continue to allow your children to be indoctrinated in what is an ungodly educational system, or will you make the choice, while you still can, to put them in an educational setting where the God of the Bible is recognized as the true sovereign?

Whoever Controls the Schools Rules the World

It’s been said that “the philosophy of the classroom in this generation will be the philosophy of life in the next generation.” Our earliest founding fathers understood this. That’s why, after building homes and churches, they established educational institutions like Harvard, Yale, Columbia, and Dartmouth. Over time, most Christians have adopted the false premise that facts are neutral. They believe it doesn’t matter who teaches math, science, and history, because facts are facts. The humanists took advantage of this type of thinking by gradually shaping and controlling education in terms of materialist assumptions.

Despite having an enormous endowment of billions of dollars, Harvard still takes a large amount of tax money every year. Hillsdale takes none, not even indirectly. The school saw the trap of federal money from early on. So many colleges in the country are dependent on government money yet still have high tuition and less control over their product.
