CIA Documents Reveal the Location of the “Ark of the Covenant” March 25, 2025 – Incrediable Finding, or No Big Deal?

There have been a news article just released that shows evidence from the CIA, of the discovery of the ark of the Covenant, dated Dec 1988. Could this be?

Decades-old CIA documents on Ark of the Covenant resurface amid classified group text spatUSA TODAY March 27, 2025

In researching the detail of this article, interesting information was uncovered, specifically regarding “Project Sun Screen.”

During the height of the Cold War, the U.S. government explored unconventional methods of intelligence gathering, seeking every possible advantage over the Soviet Union. One of the most intriguing and controversial efforts was Project Sun Streak, a classified military program operated under the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in the 1980s. This secretive initiative aimed to harness remote viewing, a purported psychic ability that allowed individuals to perceive distant locations, events, or hidden objects without physical access.

The concept was simple yet extraordinary—could trained individuals use extrasensory perception (ESP) to spy on enemy nations? Sun Streak was part of a broader government effort to explore paranormal abilities for intelligence purposes, continuing the work of earlier projects such as Project Grill Flame and the more extensive Stargate Project, which remained active into the 1990s.

At its core, Sun Streak sought to train and utilize remote viewers to collect intelligence on foreign military threats. The primary targets included Soviet military operations, hidden nuclear facilities, and other classified locations of interest. Unlike traditional reconnaissance methods, remote viewing required no physical presence—only a trained mind, a set of coordinates, and intense concentration.

Participants, often referred to as “psychic spies,” were tasked with mentally perceiving details of distant sites. Some claimed remarkable accuracy, describing layouts of enemy bases and hidden assets that could not be verified through satellite imagery alone. Whether these abilities were real or the product of suggestion remained a subject of heated debate.

Methods and Training

Sun Streak operated under strict protocols, employing a technique known as Coordinate Remote Viewing (CRV). In these sessions:

  • Remote viewers were given specific coordinates or vague prompts.
  • They attempted to describe or sketch the target location without prior knowledge.
  • Trained analysts evaluated the sessions, comparing results with actual intelligence data.

Sessions took place in controlled environments, and reports were meticulously analyzed for accuracy. While some findings seemed eerily precise, skeptics argued that any successes were due to chance, subconscious cues, or creative interpretation rather than genuine psychic ability.

So, let’s take a look at some of the declassified material released specific to the “discovery” of the Ark of the Covenant through the program of Project Sun Streak. Again remember, these are drawings from trained “Psychic Interpreters” seeking information as to where the Ark of the Covenant is located.

Their conclusion as to the location of the ark: “…reported the Ark of the Covenant to be somewhere in the Middle East, and hidden–underground, dark and wet,” and protected by use of a power unknown to us.”

The Fate of Project Sun Streak

By the mid-1990s, the U.S. government declassified several documents related to Sun Streak and other psychic espionage programs. A formal CIA evaluation in 1995 concluded that while some results were intriguing, remote viewing failed to provide consistent, actionable intelligence superior to conventional methods.

Ultimately, Project Sun Streak was shut down, its findings fading into the shadows of military history. Yet, the questions it raised remain: Did the government truly tap into the unknown, or was it chasing an illusion in the fog of Cold War paranoia?

So, a big to-do about nothing really at all. Perhaps you and I could have given the same amount of information as to where the ark might be, simply by offering our “best guess”. The ark of the Covenant still remains a mystery as to where it might be, if still on the earth today.

To you that are “End Times” information seekers, does the ark of the covenant play a part in the return of Jesus Christ? Is it necessary to be found prior to His coming? Let’s take another deep dive and find out.

The Bible does not explicitly state that the Ark must be found or used in the End Times, but there are different perspectives:

A. The Ark as No Longer Needed (Christian View)

  • Jeremiah 3:16 – “They will no longer say, ‘The Ark of the Covenant of the Lord.’ It will never enter their minds or be remembered; it will not be missed, nor will another one be made.”

This suggests that in the Messianic Age, the Ark will no longer be necessary for worship. Many Christians believe that Jesus Christ fulfilled the symbolism of the Ark, as He is the true presence of God among His people (John 1:14, Hebrews 9:11-15).

In the Book of Revelation, the Ark is seen in heaven (Revelation 11:19), leading some to believe it is not needed on Earth anymore.

B. The Ark as Part of Temple Worship (Jewish Expectation)

Some Jewish scholars and rabbis believe that the restoration of Temple worship requires the Ark, as it was central to the Holy of Holies in the First Temple (Solomon’s Temple). The Temple Institute in Israel, which is preparing for the construction of the Third Temple, does not claim to have the Ark but has reconstructed other sacred items.

The Temple Institute has spent 3 years building an exact replica of the ark, which has been on display in Donald Trump’s Home in Mar-A-Lago.

Many biblical prophecies and interpretations suggest that a Third Temple will be built before the return of Christ or the arrival of the Messianic Age.

For centuries, the idea of a Third Temple in Jerusalem has remained a subject of fascination, prophecy, and controversy. The Bible speaks of a future temple that will play a pivotal role in the End Times, with both Jewish and Christian traditions offering differing perspectives on its significance.

In modern times, preparations for the rebuilding of the Temple have accelerated, driven by organizations such as The Temple Institute in Israel. This group has meticulously crafted the sacred vessels, priestly garments, and other essential items required for Temple worship.

Another significant development has been the breeding of red heifers, a critical element in the purification rites described in Numbers 19:2-10. Without these heifers, traditional Jewish law states that the Temple cannot be ritually purified, making their recent arrival in Israel a moment of great anticipation for those awaiting the Temple’s reconstruction.

However, a major obstacle remains—the Temple Mount itself. Currently, it is controlled by Islamic authorities, and any attempt to rebuild a Jewish temple at the site could provoke extreme political and religious conflict. Despite these challenges, many continue to believe that the Third Temple will be built, whether through divine intervention or political upheaval.

A lingering question remains: What role, if any, will the Ark of the Covenant play in the Third Temple?

For centuries, the Ark—once the most sacred object in Jewish worship—has been missing, its location unknown. If it were to be discovered, it would serve as a powerful religious and political symbol, potentially uniting Jews around the cause of rebuilding the Temple.

Yet, not all believe the Ark is necessary. Some argue that modern Judaism has functioned without it for over 2,500 years, and Temple rituals could resume even if the Ark remains lost. Others speculate that the Antichrist may exploit the Temple for deception, regardless of whether the Ark is present.

The necessity of the Ark of the Covenant in the End Times depends on one’s theological perspective:

  • For Christians: No, because Jesus Christ is seen as the fulfillment of everything the Ark represented—God’s presence among His people.
  • For Some Jews: Possibly, if full Temple worship is to be restored according to the ancient laws.
  • For End Times Prophecy: A Third Temple is expected, but whether the Ark must be present remains uncertain.

What is clear, however, is that the world is watching. As geopolitical tensions rise and religious groups continue preparations, the question of the Third Temple—and the Ark—remains one of the most profound mysteries of our time.
