Over 71,000 cups of King Harvest Hummus recalled because of plastic fragments
Pacific Coast Fresh Co. of Portland, OR, is recalling 71,987 cups of various King Harvest Hummus products because of potential contamination with plastic fragments.
According to details published online by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the recall was initiated on Feb. 4, 2025, and is ongoing.
The firm voluntarily initiated the recall after identifying the presence of plastic fragments, classified as a Class II risk, indicating a low probability of serious health consequences but a potential for temporary or reversible effects.
The recalled products were distributed to retail locations in Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

Plastic fragments in food pose a risk of choking or injury to the mouth, throat, or digestive tract if ingested. While the Class II classification suggests a low risk of serious adverse health effects, the presence of foreign material remains a safety concern requiring immediate action.
