Questions about corn’s future direction are swirling throughout Ag this weekend. Have we hit the bottom? Some argue that the fundamentals demand it. Insights, however, focuses solely on the invisible hand and probabilities. The battle between bulls and bears to overcome this reversal zone will be intense. The computer uses price and volume to identify reversal zones. The countertrend rally stopped right at the reversals flagged months ago.

Price action at or within a reversal zone is important. The countertrend rally that commenced when the daily and weekly trends shifted upward 22 days and 1 week ago has evolved from simple profit-taking against the primary downtrend into a comprehensive analysis of the composite trend in terms of price, time, and energy cycles. Typically, price action between reversals, referred to as air pockets, is not significant. This statement tends to baffle inexperienced traders that believe every price tick is important. Friday’s close (01/10/25) marks the first opportunity to examine the structure of the composite trend within the alignment and energy phase of the EOT.
