The Antichrist: He Will Be Killed, then Resurrected. How This Affects You.

One of the most chilling and awe-inspiring prophecies in Scripture concerns the Antichrist — the coming world leader empowered by Satan — who will suffer a deadly wound and miraculously return to life. This event will cause the entire world to marvel, to believe the lie, and to worship the beast. Let’s explore what the Bible says about this in the King James Version (KJV), and how it connects to the larger picture of end-times deception.

The Deadly Wound and Miraculous Healing

The book of Revelation describes the beast (another title for the Antichrist) rising out of the sea. In Revelation 13:3 (KJV), John writes:

“And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.”

Later, John adds:

Revelation 13:12-14 (KJV):

“And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.”

Here, the Bible shows:

• The beast is wounded by a sword — a mortal injury.
• Despite the deadly wound, he lives again.
• This “resurrection” causes the whole world to marvel and worship him.
• False miracles and lying wonders are used to deceive the nations.

This miraculous healing is a satanic imitation of Jesus Christ’s true resurrection. Satan will empower the Antichrist to perform a counterfeit miracle to draw humanity away from the truth.

The Man of Sin and the Great Deception

The Apostle Paul warns believers about this same figure in 2 Thessalonians 2, calling him the “man of sin” and “son of perdition.” Paul writes:

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 (KJV):

“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”

And further:

2 Thessalonians 2:9-10 (KJV):

“Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”

Notice the clear connection:

• The Antichrist’s rise is empowered by Satan.
• He will perform false signs and lying wonders.
• Those who have rejected the truth will fall for his deception.

The deadly wound and false resurrection will likely be one of the most powerful “lying wonders” ever witnessed. It will be Satan’s masterpiece of deception, convincing much of humanity to abandon any remaining allegiance to the true God.

Why It Matters To You

As believers, we are called to be watchful and discerning. Jesus Himself warned us:

Matthew 24:24 (KJV):

“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”

Understanding the events of Revelation 13 and 2 Thessalonians 2 helps us prepare spiritually. We must:

• Love the truth more than we love signs and wonders.
• Stay rooted in the true gospel of Jesus Christ — salvation by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).
• Recognize that not every miracle is from God.
• Keep our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ, the true King of Kings, who will return in glory to destroy the Antichrist at His coming (2 Thessalonians 2:8).

The world is quickly heading toward the fulfillment of these prophecies. Let us be awake, sober, and faithful, warning others and clinging to the true Savior, not the counterfeit.

Deception is minimized for those who study the truth. Our loving God has provided information relating to the end times through biblical prophecies. As we seek to study these writings, we will know the enemy’s plan, and will be prepared to see through his tricks and illusions.

Isaiah 58:11 (KJV):

“And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.”

Psalm 32:8 (KJV):

“I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV):

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

John 10:27-28 (KJV):

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”
