This family drama/thriller shows just how far a family will go for one of their own. There are a few twists and turns that leave you wanting more as you listen to the story unfold. I love this cover as well. The colours are so rich and vibrant.
The story revolves around Hailey and her family. Hailey and her husband Jonah are going through a bitter divorce and fighting tooth and nail over their young daughter Maya. All Hailey really wants to do is move back to Florida to be near her own family but Jonah will have none of it. When Hailey files a motion to do this the fighting escalcates even more.
The plot thickens when Jonah turns up dead and of course Hailey is the first to fall under suspicion. Nothing is as it seems though as Hailey’s family will do anything they can to help her. The events that follow leave us wondering just how far will a family go to be rid of what is ultimately, as they see it, destroying their lives.
The audio version was great. Rachel F. Hirsch narrates the story to perfection. I’ve listened to her before in one other book and she has a wonderful voice for telling a story. She pulls you in and keeps you there.
I enjoyed We Would Never and would definitely listen to more from Tova Mirvis. Recommended for those who enjoy family dramas and thrillers.
